No iDrive on 07 E66. Blank screen. I want to try to reset before I tear into it and have it fixed. What is the reset procedure?

More important is if the sos module is failed and it can shut down the ccc. You can install an optical loop to remove sos module, it's a fiber optic loop. I believe the sos module is on the trunk, I would try that first.
I see a loop in the glove compartment by the fuses. Is this the same loop that you are talking about? Can I remove that to diagnose and bypass any bad module in the system?

I disconnected the loop in the glove compartment and one side of the cable has a red light. This, to me, the loop is completed. However, I still have no display nor radio.

I know this post is a couple months old but I just thought I’d add my two cents. The fiber optic loop in the glove compartment is required as the fiber optic system will be disrupted and not able to complete its path. If your issue still hasn’t been resolved, I would recommend pulling out your MMI (display screen) and checking the fuse and wiring. It’s very simple to pull it out. You’ll have to pop off the black A/C vents and then unscrew I believe four screws on the upper portion of the screen.
