Hey, I drive my dads Bimmer often, and I was wondering about how when you put it in sport mode is says m/s, can you drive it in that mode? Is it sportier? I mean with out then pulling or pushing the + or - cus when you do then it will say m1 m2 etc. but before you shift it say m/s and you can drive it in that.
LOL. m1,m2 etc stands for manual mode, s1, s2 etc is still standard mode/automatic mode. All sport mode does is change the shifting points of the transmission to make the engine rev higher before switching gears. This is also information thats been covered and can be found by doing a little research.......hope you dont break your dads car. Goodluck
I’ve got my own bmw, it’s older than yours, It’s a classic. My dads got a 12’ diesel x5. And I switched it over too sport mode, and it said like “m/s.” I know what it does when you shift it, lol, I saw lots of info on that but I drove it like 3 blocks in m/s with out shifting it. I thought maybe there was two different sport modes, like one shift left, which just says “m/s” or something like that and you can drive it and it will always say m/s and it will shift. I wasn’t in m1 then revved it until it shifted. I drive his car often, and I have done that before because I forget sometimes when traffic is busy that I was in sport mode. It seemed more like I was driving a nice ricer compared to a crappy ricer, one ricer driver shifts at redline with a beer can on the muffler and one shifts a little higher providing just a little bit more torque.
