I grabbed this off of Wikipedia. Any there currently any L7's even still around available in the US? Anyone know of one for sale?
Special models[edit]
L7[edit]
From 1997 to 2001, BMW sold an extended wheelbase limousine model called the L7.[34][35] The wheelbase was extended by 25 cm (10 in) over the "iL" models, resulting in an overall length of 5.37 m (211 in).[36] Features included electrically adjustable rear seats, rear footrests, fold down rear trays, a fridge, rear television screen, video player, fax machine.[36][37]
Based on the 750iL with a 12-cylinder engine, the L7 has a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).[38] The L7 was only available in the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Europe, and 899 examples were built.[33] The 2000-2001 models had an optional "privacy window" glass partition to separate the driver from the rear passengers.[39]

afaik, L7 were never sold in the US new. They are pretty rare anyway. You can find them in Japan, Europe and the Middle East. I think someone on the forum has one in Canada (imported).

The above is my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

New Zealand has quite a few I've noticed, but Europe basically got them all. You'll almost always see them out in the snow! I've seen a couple here in Australia, one actually not all that far from me, but I'm not sure if it was imported or if it was sold in Aus from the get-go. I'm putting my bets on imported.
I wouldn't want an L7 here though, we have so much space in this country but all of our roads are tiny and our parks are just terribly undersized - I have chronic paranoia and stress just from trying to park my 7! Half the time I'm sandwiched beside cheap bangers, Honda's and Holden's and all those nasty little tin cars that just love to ding your doors or crack your bumpers.
I do have one in Canada. Just had it out in the snow. I love it!

That's awesome! I used to live, "up there." Miss it. Seeing an L7 would be pretty epic! *cheers

An e23 L7 is a trim package. An e38 L7 is a rare beast anywhere.

Stirlingm5,
I also have an L7.
Did yours come with the Lenco TV and VCR?
These cars are rare even in the UK and Ireland.
It did come with the Lenco VCR but unfortunately not the TV. It had been replaced by a previous owner with an aftermarket unit. I'd love to get my hands on an original Lenco.

Hi Stirlingm5,
Yeah it seems almost all of the previous owners tend to remove the original tv. In my case, the previous owner had fitted a aftermarket tv but, he had also left the original tv. I am thinking of a way to remove the new tv and install the original. I hope he hasn't butchered the wiring though... If so, it will be impossible, as most of the wiring is NLA.
for those of you who remember my 750 (and it's rare euro/indiv/L7 features), and how much I've adored it these past 10yrs (still do)
...the time has come to find it a new home. You'll soon see it posted on "Doug's" site : ) ...Happy e38'ing
