I recently changed my upper control arms and I now have a clunking noise when driving. The car was on jack stands when I bolted it up but I’ve since went under and loosened/tightened all the bolts With weight on the suspension but the problem is still there. Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
Did you need to remove the center sway bar bushing mounts to gain access to those rear bolts for the upper arms? If so, make sure the tabs on those sway brackets are correctly in place or the sway bar will clunk. I might be thinking of my 7, but I've done the 6's and 7's and they are similar, and the rear bolt on the upper arms does not have much wrench access without removing the sway plates.

Correct. I did remove the center sway bar (assuming it's #15 in this diagram). What do you call the center sway bar bushing mounts?

Thanks. I'll be sure to give that a quick check when I go back under.
I should have used correct terminology of "stabilizer" bar.
The brackets are on the next page of RealOEM. They have a tab on one side that if not correctly inserted, will cause a clunk.
