Hey guys been on the hunt for an e36 m3 for a while now and been very dissapointed with the market here in socal (san diego area) looking for a dinan s3 but at this point i will take a stock one with low miles (100k or less) and very good condition. How much do you guys think i should pay and is there anyone in the area selling theres?

$12-20k depending on color options, condition, and maintenance performed. Market is all over the place.

The market is shit right now. I'm willing to spend upwards of $15k right now if the right one appears. I've been searching for about a month now and still cant get a hold of a decent one. I'm even looking within about a 500 mile radius. Why is it so hard to find these now?!?!

Most of these cars are into second, third, or even fourth ownership.
The well maintained low mileage examples are generally owned by people who know what they have.
Surprisingly there are fewer that 6 on the CCA web classifieds, and only one Dinan 3.

I've been looking for a stock one too except on the east coast. BAT seems to be the only place I've seen good buys in the spec you're describing. None there now but they seem to pop up with some frequency. Per above comment, the pricing range has been wide/erratic so some sellers might not like the risk of an auction process.
Anything with under 100K miles at this point is going to be very rare and expensive, to the point of probably not being worth it (unless you want an investment and not a car you can drive). The cars are old enough where age is arguably a bigger factor than mileage. Rubber deteriorates over time more or less regardless of mileage.
If I were in your position I'd look for a car in relatively good shape with a solid drivetrain and interior/exterior, but maybe between 100K and 150K miles. You'll pay half as much for basically the same car.

Did you see this one? GL with the hunt!!
Kinda odd that the car has been posted for almost a month and hasn't sold. Being in SF, it might have some minor rust perhaps...

Looks like an enthusiast BMW CCA owned and I see an Evo 8 or 9 in the back on one of the pictures...
^ oh ok. #feelsbadman
I don't understand why the seller can't leave a phone # in the ad
Maybe send another email and see what happens.
I found my car in Sacramento, had it shipped to Georgia for $900 in 2012. I found a shop local to the owner, that did the PPI, flew out on a Friday night, bought the car on Saturday morning, and dropped it off at the transport company and flew back to Georgia Saturday afternoon.
In 2006, bought a Lightning in Virginia. Flew up on the first flight out on a Saturday morning, bought it and rove it back. Saved over $2k from what was in the Ga market.
Look around the US, you might find exactly what you want.
Because people start calling offering to "help you sell your car" or texting meaningless lowball offers. I just went through this myself in selling a truck. I removed my phone number from the CL ad after one day because of the dumb phone messages that started coming in. Had to block a couple numbers.

What do you guys think. Worth taking out a loan for? What do you guys think its worth?

If you need to take a loan out on a 20 year old car, you are looking at the wrong cars. $20K for a car with 190K on the chassis is nuts...nice car that appears to have a good maintenance list, but let's be real here there isn't 60K in that thing by a long shot. Given the mods the car has been heavily tracked too.
Ok guys which one seems like the better choice?

The green one is a salvage title for $14K. That's silly.
I know you are looking for an E36 M3 but the E46 M3's are really affordable right now. About 6 months ago I picked one up for ~$10k with 77k miles on it. I still have and love my E36 and it is my daily driver, (227k miles on it), but it won't last forever, probably, and I wanted a spare....
Different driving feel but I think I can get used to it.
