Yeah, it’s not in my Sent folder either, weird.
I basically suggested reading post #1 of this thread and getting a K+DCAN cable with built-in switch, then contacting me for next steps.

I should add the car was manual swapped. I did all the coding with pasoft / ncs for the swap. I believe I coded everything correctly since I have no errors stored, but I can't remember if I did the zcs or not.

Hey, I did this and am pretty happy with results. I did, however, lose the check engine light.

my car - '03 530i manual swapped with 408k miles

With Bali's help, i upgraded software to latest EU2 tune. I was getting post-cat O2 sensor errors (saying not enough variance between pre & post-cat sensors) likely due to tired cats.

Following the update, my rear O2 sensors are off, as is the secondary air pump. I have the block-off plate, but haven't installed it yet. I also lost a functioning check engine light. I have just gotten into the habit of scanning for codes every 2 weeks or so.

I am not sure how this will play out at inspection time. In my state (MA), pre-'04 cars don't have a "Monitors-ready" check, so I might be allright. However, I think the inspector still looks for a check engine light when he turns the key...and I don't have one... I don't need an inspection until next Feb (March) so I will deal with this later.

This issue is referred to in the forums, but not widely noticed. At least one person somehow had the tune modified to re-light the check engine light.

Yes the check engine (SES) light never lights up...not in accessory mode, and not when running when you have a real error code. In the 5-6 months since I upgraded, I have scanned mis-fire and other codes that would have tripped the SES (and did before the upgrade) but didn't turn on the SES light.

Balidawg, I got banned on e46 fanatics site for no reason. Admins haven't responded to my multiple comms. I haven't even been around for a few years due to family stuff, so it seems silly.
