    Yes, excessive grinding is correct but I was highly motivated to avoid removing the stabilizer bracket. I'll be searching the flea markets for a low-clearance 22mm (7/8") wrench to do the arms on my '90 535 this summer.

    Now on to my auto transmission issue - I'll post this one separately.
