    325i Touring Thermostat leak?

    Hi All,

My GF sent me this pic of her car last night, looks slightly concerning:

    28309509_2197623170251740_1539467053_o.jpg

The car has 95k miles, all cooling system components were replaced within the last 20k miles (have ECS tuning receipts from PO but nothing else). We just bought the car a month or so back, and the car seems to have been owned by an enthusiast. Is it common for Thermostats to leak here? Looking at a replacement housing, it doesn't look like theres an actual joint here? Is it still safe to drive on? Any options to drive safely for the next few months until the weather warms up so that its easier to work on the car?

    Thanks!

Well I do get some seepage myself from that location. I think it is from the electrical thermostat connector, so just keep an eye on it.

pretty common and should be replaced... but can still be driven no problems. it will probably throw a code soon enough. in the meantime just watch your coolant level.
