Just moved to Houston recently and I'm needing to get a replacement front seat map pocket panel (you know, that one that breaks all of the time, that's located on the back of the front seats). There's nothing reasonable on eBay so I'm looking for a place to scavenge for parts such as this one (I know I'll need something in the future too). Any places that you guys find such things?

Black interior. I was hoping to score a vinyl map pocket for cheap somewhere. I found a replacement for $50 the other day (some scratches), but even that I feel is a little on the high side. Does Frankie replace the plastic hinges with metal ones? That would be more worth it. I think chrome metal hinges would be a nice touch. Too many plastic parts in our cars.

Thanks a bunch Sabreslight, I ended up purchasing the $50 one from the junkyard. I guess I shouldn't be complaining as it is a fair price for such an item so no worries.

I set up email alerts at LKQ. They get have 2-4 cars most of the time and get maybe 1-2 new ones a month, particularly at the Northville location. I've found all the missing/broken little bits I've needed. Grady

I spoke to Frankie and he said that the hinges are 3D printed plastic that are stronger than the originals. I asked him if they can be purchased and installed by the consumer (would save a ton in shipping and labor). Maybe he'll entertain that idea. But I guess for now, I don't need them anymore.
Nice to know about LKQ. I ended up visiting a place near Akron Auto Sales. They had like 50 BMWs in the junkyard. Nothing rare though.

They picked the parts. But I'm not sure if they'll let you do it yourself. I couldn't find the business name from google maps. Seemed more like a backyard thing and I found them on craigslist. They exclusively deal with BMWs and have a lot of them. No M cars though...
