Hello all,
I am about to put in a Supersprint stainless muffler on my 91 318is. At the same time, I would like to take out the catalytic converter and replace with a stainless straight pipe. Does anyone have done this before? Do you know where I can get a stainless straight pipe?
Thanks,
O.C.
Any news let me know I am looking for one. I would like to take out the catalytic converter also.
Do you have a Summit Racing near you, if not they will ship any size stainless pipe to you.
And its also against the law to remove your cat, if you live in the usa. So just be aware of that when you do this.
I ran straight pipes, from the cat back, on my 89 325i. It sounded awesome
+1 for summit racing. If you spend more than $75 they throw in free shipping in the usa. High quality pipe.

I contacted Summit Racing, they said they don't offer any emissions device eliminating parts. I need to work with a local fabrication shop on producing a custom replacement pipe.
Of course they said that. Its illegal to do what you want on a road car in most places. That doesnt stop a lot of people. Just buy the pipe, cut the cats out, and weld in new pipe. There will be custom work involved. Youll have to measure pipe lengths and angles and then cut and weld.
