It appears I have gotten another code in regards to my check engine light.
Currently both rear 02 sensors need be replaced. I have them just haven't figured out how to get them out, considering previous owner stripped them.
Just to check-up on my CEL, I did a scan on lunch break and received the following:
P1184 - refer to vehicle service manual.
As I do not have the service manual and google isn't doing the trick... does anyone here know?
It looks like some overseas cars use this code in regards to 02 sensors. But ford and chevy use it in regards to oil temp/sensor.
2000 528i sport
EMP Stewart water pump
Dice iPod adapter
Alpine amplifiers
MB Quart speakers
MTX BGE12 subwoofer
AudioControl EQL equalizer
I found a slightly different description in the attached PDF that appears to be a BMW document.
P1184 HO2S Sensor Voltage Excursion Electrical (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
But they might in fact be pointing at the same fault - many of these DTC descriptions are somewhat ambiguous. You might try swapping O2 sensors (both physical location and electrical connection) and see if the DTC follows the sensor.
And a heads up that DTCs in this range are unique to each OEM, i.e. a Ford/VW/Audi etc. P1184 can or will be entirely different for each brand. For that matter, could be different within a brand for different engines.
