After someone posted photos of this retrofit in my build thread, I knew I had to do it. The guy in Russia who did these charges $600 for parts in labor after you supply the lights so I knew it must not be too difficult. I have done a number of retrofits in the past too so this should be like all the rest.
I bought a spare E38 light to do the first and then found X5 and 4 series headlights from wrecked cars with adaptive LED. I also found cotton white LED angel eyes which seem like the ones used as well. All in I think I am at $325 in parts so far.
Here are photos of the finished product from Russia. @autosvet_center
I will post photos of my progress as I move forward.

Pulled the spare light apart. I love the design of these lights and they are clearly the easiest lights in the history of all lights to disassemble. It was like they were made for retrofits!
I have no idea how the guys in Russia made these work. It's going to take some engineering and will need some custom brackets made. I've got nothing to lose though so we will see what happens with this first set. Definitely won't be keeping the adaptive features. That would take many many hours and access to 3d printers and/or CNC parts. I would also have to run all the sensors for steering etc.
They look really good finished. Really interested to see how these turn out. Good luck!

hrm thats an interesting setup. Wonder if I can find a way to retrofit these into an E39 prefacelift headlight...
I gave up on this since they are so complicated. It's just not worth the effort for me right now. If I wasn't building another project car maybe but it's not the time for me now. I would be willing to sell the LED lights if anyone wants to take it on. I have one dismantled light and one still intact. Both passenger side IIRC. PM me if interested.
Both LED lights for sale for $200 shipped. One is complete although broken (just lens and tabs) and the other is completely dismantled.
Can you post more pics of it apart? Possibly interested.
Any news on these LED headlights? I would love to do this to my car.
Hello
I am working on the same project . I am using F15 full led system .
I have figured out how to put everything in place. Next step is figuring out how to make the led system work.......
