Hey guys!
I was wondering if I could fit a simple aftermarket keyless entry module to my E36.
My car is a 92' 318IS Coupe, and it has no factory alarm, I can lock/unlock it manually with my key, my key has no electronics aswell.
I'm not so familiar with the factory locks but when I unlock it with my key it unlocks all sides so is there a module that I can tap the aftermarket entry system in?
Thanks in advance!
Your car is probably a EURO model, not a US, the US model : **Most BMW’s are pre-wired for a security system. Usually, there is a sticker inside the trunk which indicates if your BMW is pre-wired for a security system. Depending on the year and model of your vehicle, the alarm port will be located in the following areas, behind the glove box, under the rear seat, or other location.
Then the easiest is United auto security http://unitedautosecurity.net/BMW-E3...aspx?sid=13867
Remote Control Alarm Kit BMW 3 Series (E36)

* Only for US spec vehicles with alarm pre-wiring.

Of course there are cheaper systems for maybe EURO 30 , but then you have to do the wiring by your own. Example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX88WP3uTKY
central locking pinout from a German E36 forum http://e36-schaltplaene.e36-page.net...riegelung.html
instructions in German, translate that http://e36-einbauanleitung.e36-page....bedienung.html
