So I've got my entire rear suspension mostly dropped. I had undone the nuts on the parking brake lines in the cabin as per many of the suggestions. I thought this would result in them just pulling free as I dropped the subframe. However, all it did was pull the rubber lines within which the parking brake cables reside nice and tight:

How do I free these up, and at which end? Is there a fitting somewhere I need to disconnect to free the outer sheath, or are the lines just stuck inside somewhere? The lines are definitely free from inside the cabin since nothing is attached to the handbrake anymore, so they got stuck somewhere aft of that.

There are 2 plastic clips on the body that hold the outer cable housings. If you're pulling straight back on the cables, the metal end cap on the housing will stop up against the clip and make you think it's stuck. You just need to pull the cable housings down and free from the clips.
I would just replace the cables on a 20 year old car. Mine were frozen inside the sheathing. Took a lot of spraying and wiggling to get the sheathing out of the car body. They were pretty cheap as I recall — about $20 each.
If you want to salvage yours, the lines don’t come out of the sheathing. You remove the sheathing from the car body. It is probably stuck in the holes so wiggle and spray your favorite penetrant. Patience is required.

you can undo the 2 nuts at the hand brake and the cables will slide right out. When re-installing just slide them back in through the 2 holes and re-connect.
Thanks, I found the clips on either side of the drive shaft and was able to pull the lines out easily.
