Pitch sensor, bottom of left side of trunk found in 3" of water - sensor and loom plug ruined ! Alarm goes on at off at will while driving. Not fun. (Though one Escalade pulled over, driver was distressed!)
My USA Z3 2.5i wiring has a red/yellow (hot always) wire that's not shown in Bentley wiring diagram - ( this is part of the (DWA) Anti-theft system - page ELE-170 of Bentley manual.)
Can someone look at their wiring and see the same wire and in what "position" does it fit in the X1222 wiring loom plug ? My wire was not attached to the plug at all, but it had been.
I have a new BMW plug with new connector inserts. I presumed this yellow/red wire was supposed to line up with the #3 pin on my new pitch sensor on the wiring diagram.
However, after careful install, when I re-attached the negative battery terminal to test, the fuel gauge and engine temp gauge went inoperable, I found a 5 amp fuse blown, part of the DWA anti-theft fuses.
Not excited to ruin my expensive new sensor - if it's not already fried.
If nothing else maybe you can make sense from the wiring diagrams you may have or the Bentley diagram referenced above.
Thanks in advance, -- any help much appreciated.
