    I've Immobilised myself!!!!!!!! 85 635csi

So basically, somehow, my aftermarket alarm went off, which has been out of service forever, and now the car won't start. have lights. no ignition. is it realistic to go in and remove the whole thing? which I'd like to do anyway or is this a pretty advanced undertaking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I usually remove those right off the bat with any new project car. They typically get installed on the 'start' wire near the ignition key. I'd just edit out the alarm controller and splice it back together.

If it's the stock BMW immo unit, pop off the kick panel under the steering and jump or splice the thick green wire to the thick green/red wire at the plastic "code" box.

It's not really the most advanced project, but I'd recommend taking a lot of pics with a cell phone while you're in there. Those are good to have if you need to take a break, run to the store, have a brain like mine (colander, LOL), etc..

I removed an aftermarket system on mine. Couldn't believe the amount of wiring that came out. I do remember though splicing one wire back together though. It was a thick black wire somewhere right around the stack of connectors mid way down the steering column. It's been years so I don't remember if there were others.
