Any recommendations on adhesives for putting in/fitting interior panel parts on older cars? Specifically JDM models?
Just have a couple loose panels in my new buy e34 535i and in one of my other cars just not sure what the way to go is all reccs easily available appreciated!
My E-36's panels all fell apart on me too, something about the glue used during the 90's just wasn't up to par it seemed.
I have used gorilla glue on my door panels, and it seems to have lasted about 3 years now. I have removed the door panels several times to work on the windows, locks, wiring and the glue has held. I do have a slight rattle in the passenger door again, so looks like this summer I will be pulling it off to check on it.

Try Weldwood spray contact cement. You can get it on Amazon. The stuff is what upholstery shops use. It’s amazingly strong.
Darin, the reason why your interior panels came apart is BMW used recycled materials.
E34 door cards are notorious for problems at this age.
The center panels are easily re-attached with various adhesives, I like contact cement but it is unforgiving to work with. Gorilla glue expands as it cures so be careful not to use too much. I've seen lots of GG jobs with excess glue oozing out and that stuff is nigh on impossible to remove once it's cured.
If the vinyl has pulled away from the molded door card that is a more involved process. It can be repaired if the vinyl hasn't shrunk too much.
Look at the E34 sub forum, there are many threads covering a lot of different ideas on repairing those door cards .
If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
+1 on the GG expansion. Don't forget to dampen one of the surfaces. The stuff is good. Has held my coolant tank in my track car for almost 15000 track miles
