Hey guys, does anyone know where the fuel regulator I should located in a 1995 840ci? Recently it’s been taking longer to start the engine. I changed fuel filters but the problem remains.
That could be the check valve integrated with the pump or the regulator. If the pressure bleeds off, the car will take forever to start. Luckily, it is an easy solution either way. You could buy a fuel check valve and stick it inline before the filters. The regulator is on the end of your fuel rail. Easy change out. Probably quicker to change the regulator than to pressure test your system to verify which component failed. I'd change the regulator first.

Thanks Brett! So it’s located down line from the filter underneath the car right?

Sorry guys it’s been awhile lol. I replace the whole setup; fuel filters, fuel regulator and fuel pump because they are old. Turned out it was the fuel pump going bad.
Glad you got it sorted.
Brett
Yeah, that fuel pump was a joy to change :-)
Small correction. The fuel regulator was bad not the fuel pump.
