85 635csi no start

Hi all,

Car not turning over at all. Battery is good, coil is good, all lights and power coming on, but no crank. Cranked fine yesterday, and now lights only, no turn over, just quiet. Any advice will be much appreciated

I would check all the barrel fuses, we used to do fuse box services replacing all the fuses and cleaning the contacts that hold the fuse and also check the power wires coming off the positive battery terminal that feed the fuse box. You don't have those repair type battery ends on your cables do you, because they can cause all sorts of grief

Hey thanks jclausen. all the terminals are good. i was doing ome wiring the other day, set off the alarm when i opened the trunk, and had to reconnect it. it then drove, but since will not start. could i have immobilised myself?

Check the 'start' wire at the starter. It's a small black/yellow wire with a female spade connector. It has a tendency to fall off the starter solenoid terminal where it belongs.
