E90 led headlight upgrade

Hi

What led headlight upgrades are recommend? There are so many on eBay but loads have reports of failures and error codes. Is it an easy upgrade? Hate the yellow old skool glow of h7!

I would suggest a projector retrofit with something like a Mini D2S 4.0, that would offer the best performance.
Led or HID kits will require coding to prevent errors. Don't use resistors, they run CRAZY hot and pose a fire risk.
Led bulbs aren't great in a reflector bowl, you don't get a great beam pattern, though output would be much better. HID drop-ins would blind oncoming traffic terribly.
There isn't a great "easy upgrade," though an LED drop-in might be the best bet. If you go that route, look for a bulb that runs the Cree XHP, those offer the best performance. You'll get a lot more light and a whiter color, but it won't throw super far because of the reflector design.
