    Cooling for SC E36

I have a Dinan Supercharged E36 M3. Added a euro oil cooler and Z3 S54 radiator. RMS After Cooler is a wish list item but at 1800 its a big ticket item. Things still get warm under the hood so I run the heat in the cabin while running it hard. The needle doesn't move on the thermostat (stays in the middle) and I don't have gauges yet but its pretty hot under there. I am buying a stock hood and want to put in the gtr style hood vents for cooling. I have researched this and read it helps alot with cooling. For the guys with vented hood and high power setups is it worth venting the hood and if so are there other items to be done while doing so.

You shouldn’t have any problems on the street with your low boost system. If you track it, you should be prepared for power loss from heat soak since it is not intercooled and from the added drag on the motor under boost since you will be in boost much more on the track. Proper ducting and sealing helps but if you track it you will want an oil cooler. Once you add the intercooler and raise the boost, the ducting and sealing will become more important as will the oil cooler and heavy duty engine fans. Water/meth injection will also help with detonation suppression since you are on 91 octane in CA. You will benefit some from water/meth even now with low boost.
