Sunroof will not retract

Good afternoon, I was out driving my car for the first time since getting it inspected and registered today. Previous owner removed the sunroof to reseal it and he never replaced the mechanism or headliner.
Well, it was about a half inch up and I wanted to close it but I hit the button the wrong way and it's up about 2 or 3 inches and I cannot get it to retract. I don't have the proper tool but I've got an assortment of Allen wrenches and I could not get that thing to turn.
Any suggestions? Should I remove motor from the gear mechanism to close it?
Just one of many small projects to work on!

Try sticking your key into the doorlock and turning it to the unlock position and hold. It should roll down the windows and open the sunroof. During that process, it will pass through the flat closed position.
