    Everyone's First BMW Model

Hi everyone, I am wondering how everyone started getting really into BMW? Obviously we're all interested because we're here lol, but I want to know what got people into this great luxury brand! What got me into it was my dad's 2004 530i sedan, which still has under 35,000 miles today.

In 1975 I bought a 1 year old 2002 BMW from a friend. The BMW 02 Series was produced between 1966 and 1977, based on a shortened version of the New Class Sedans. The 02 Series caught enthusiasts' attention, the base single-carburetor 2002 producing 75 kW (101 hp).
Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!

'95 E36 325is 4 door. Loved that car, and still miss it. I am about to move from my E60 back into my old E39. What is old is new again.

Some 18 years ago a good friend of mine showed up in an E30 and I fell in love with it instantly.
Not much later I bought my first one (a 316i).

Bought a 1602 that was badged as a 2002, today that would prob mean a lawsuit, that was 1973. Wanted a BMW after riding in a friend's car that was able to drive a back road at speeds that my Ford Galaxy was totally unsafe.

    It was a 1985 735i for me.
Bought it only because it was a bargain priced misfit at Ford dealer after the first owner traded it for a SHO Taurus when those were the darlings of all the car magazines.
I didn't expect to like it so much and have been a fan of everything before Bangle and I-drive since.

My dad had an ‘85 535i manual, when I turned 16 I learned to drive that car and took it to proms and stuff from ‘86-87.

i got myself an e30 in ‘95 (‘91 325i) I drove that car for 8 years. Sold it to get my wife a 4 door because we had our first child in 2002 and e30 coupes don’t do well with car seats.

my son turned 15 last year, I have been without a car for a decade only driving company truck, decided to get another e30 to teach my son to drive so we got the ‘87 325e. Only took me another 6 months to realize I needed my own car so I found a nice ‘89 325i for myself.

sometimes I gaze at a new 1 series, 2 series but the current cars don’t really do much for me. The 3 series cars are huge. I think sometime in the next 5 years I will find a nice e28 and I’ll be done.

A '76 3.0 SI began my sickness ,the only A/T in the following dozen, but I'm seriously looking at an A/T Jaguar F type salvage? Will I regret losing the M-Coupe?

Do Jaguar + salvage = regret? Hmmm me thinks you'd be better off putting your willy into a light socket.
I too have fallen victim to a pretty British face, sort of like dating a supermodel with VD. It's so appealing but you know there will be consequences.

You know the GM Auto Show In Motion? I think it's canceled now, but it was an event where you could test drive GM products around a short course in a parking lot and compare them to competitor's cars. Unfortunately, they made a big mistake when I went to one - they brought a 3 series as competition for the Cadillac CTS.

Also, they seemed rather upset at how I was driving the Malibu Maxx wagon. In retrospect, I'm not sure if all four wheels were on the ground when they were yelling at me.

I fell in love with the lines of the E46 when it first came out and recently saved up enough to buy an E46 330i ZSP

With 3-4 exceptions, my dad has always driven BMWs as company cars for one year each starting with early E60s, F10 and the G11 last year.
He settled down on an F10 now, I'm happy with my E60

After owning several American made straight six cars, I test drove a 76 3.0 SI, the US six's seemed to resent reving past 4k,The Bimmer lived for it, its replacement,a 533i,seemed unbreakable, after years of AX abuse, I've owned about 75 cars from 7 other brands, but the last dozen or so have been Bimmers, I do all my own work, and recognize good engineering.

First car I was ever introduced to was a e12 530i and an e23 735i back in the 80's during my childhood. Since then we've basically always owned bmw's with a few exceptions here and there.

My dads old 1985 e23 7 series back in high school, that I blew up. After high school he got me an e32 750il, and after that I went through a few e30's, two which were s52 swapped. Also was handed down my dads old 96 740il before it quit and just sold my 03 530i 5-speed after owning it for 5 years. I definitely like older bmw's and have a m52 zf combo laying around that I want to swap into something. Will mostly get an e28 to swap it in sooner or later.

    2001 325XI wagon
Hi All, new member here in the NW and Arizona (splitting time for now). Currently have a 2001 325XI Touring and a 1998 323I convertible. About to pick up a 1993 325I coupe with 24K original miles.

My first BMW was an early 70's 2002 with a 283 small block and a muncie 4sp, hurst shifter. Quick in a straight line, plowed thru corners and no fun at all on a freeway with the gearing. Not really the pure BMW driving experience.

What turned me on to BMW's for real was a former work partner of mine in early 1990's. She drove a 1989 735IL, black on black. When we went anywhere together I drove and truly, nothing drives like a BMW. Eventually I bought myself a 1988 735i. Happiest money pit I've ever owned. Was driving across WA state once with friends when one of them asked how fast we were going. I looked and was surprised to realize we were at an easy 120mph. He freaked a bit so had to slow down. Next bimmer was a 1988 E30 convertible. Liked it except that on the freeway the seatbelt slapped up and down on my shoulder in the wind. Really hurt after more than a short drive at speed. Wife made that one disappear because of the baby. Over cautious. Moved on to an '01 325Xi sedan. Awesome car. had to sell it hen I moved to China. Now I'm back and about to own three 3 series to go along with a couple of Alfa's and an heirloom 1950 Chev Fleetline deluxe. Gonna need more garage space.

My first was a '93 325is back in 2008, sold it and regretted it instantly.. had a couple e46's, an e39 540i, e90's etc but stuck with a '98 328i convertible which I've had for 3 years now and absolutely love it. Looking for a e34 540i/6 or an e30 325is ATM

My first BMW was a '94 525i, and my current daily. I wasn't into BMW's at all until I saw a few sporty e30s at local car shows, plus a few e36 drift cars. Fell in love instantly

My first experience with BMW began way back in 1988,
    as a valet/limo driver for a Chicago-Goldcoast Luxury Hotel,
with twin BMW 735iL sedans in the stable, updated yearly!
I admit, that was an enjoyable beginning, even though I did not necessarily own the vehicles.

My first BMW was a '71 2002. Bought in Jan. 1971. It was also my first new car.
