I was wondering if anybody has a good drawing of how the vacuum lines are supposed to run. I think im missing a line. So here goes. Looking at the motor, there is a line onthe left side that turns into a hard plastic ine that then connects to another hard that goes under the car, but on the secondary pump on the firewall side of the intake, there another barb fitting on that pump that isnt hooked up...so anyways any help would be helpful. I dont want to take this intake back off if i dont have to....

This is the vacuum diagram for the SAP, and #5 sits on the firewall IIRC: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_2203

Now you have another vacuum line that goes to the Fuel pressure regulator: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=13_0737

And this is the fuel tank vent line: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=13_0633

Where is the fuel reg? It lists a line but doesnt show where it goes...so would that be the hard line that runs under the car??

Yes, there is a hardline that runs down to the FPR, and the FPR is located down by the frame.

Ok, let me explain, so on the FPR sheet that you sent, its line item 8 i understand where the line plugs into the FPR, but where does the other end go?

The line should go up into the engine compartment and connect to another soft line. That soft line should connect to the intake near the throttle body IIRC. On the older BMW's you will have a seperate fuel filter, and the FPR will be under a cover with it.

So here is a scenario: Start car...drive car..temp gauge is 12 noon in 8 minutes...Turn on heat...temp gauge drops to halfway on the temp gauge then slowly graduates back to 12 o'clock....now good for the rest of the day...................And yes..I am quite stupid...but as a weakling...I need your help....

On my 323i, there is a hard metal vacuum line built into the fuel rail. Do you have that? If so I believe the hard line from the fpr plugs into a 1/8" rubber hose that connects to the fuel rail nearest the firewall. Then you should have the other end of the metal vacuum line connecting into another 1/8" rubber hose that goes under the intake manifold and connects to the barb on the ccv.

No, the CCV doesn't need the additional hose, but it is a good idea if you are using more than a quart every 1k-2k miles.

I would have to crawl into the wife's car to see where exactly those line run into, as she doesn't have the one for the SAP.

Yes, I do have that metal line on the fuel rail, So it looks like the front end of that goes to the ccv and the rear goes to the fpr. and then the vacuum line that runs from the front of the engine to the svp on the rear of the intake...so I think that we have figured it out.
    Thanks for all your help....

Those are parts of the intake manifold. You would need to remove it and put them in. They belong on the bottom where the rubber gasket is. You may have a vacuum leak without them as the gasket may not be seated correctly without it.

It will be obvious. They fit like a puzzle. The circular part of the O ring goes around the circlular edge.

Do you have the intake manifold out? Have you removed the gasket? If so you should be able to fit them into the intake manifold like a puzzle. I wish I could explain it better. I don't know what they are or what they do, I just remember seeing one fall out when I had my intake out. I will look online and see if I can find some pictures.
