Hey fellas. I'm an e39 guy. But was working on my sons e90. It's a 2007 328xi with gm transmission. The gear selector shaft broke so I was replacing it. Well after all said and done. I find this piece on the cardboard I had laid under the car. It had gotten dark so I never saw where it came from. My guess is it sits above the filter neck. But just a guess. Before I tear back into it. Can anyone verify what this is. Sucks. Because I just finished filling it back up with fluid only to think I have to open the pan back up and drop the valve body to see where this stupid piece of plastic goes

If you look up the part number for the filter and seal on reloem the search the part number, the seal looks different than you picture so I dont know
Yeah I did that last night. Not even sure if it came from the car anymore.

It sucks not knowing. I know when I serviced my 525 trans the old seal on the filter tube was held firmly in place I had to get a pick to remove it
Is this a 6L45 transmission? Looks like one of the seals between the valve body & the transmission.
