Out of a 1 owner ’81 e23, ODO showed 204k miles and PO stated 4-5k additional miles.
Car drove/ran great and transmission shifted flawlessly in/out of every gear, no bearing noise- I have short videos of the car driving and shifting into and out of every gear, and the car idling with no bearing noise both in and out of gear.
Images over the weekend- If you’d like to see the videos shoot me a pm with either a cell # or email address
$1500 picked up, not interested in shipping.
Parts included;
265/6 transmission with M30 bellhousing
trans X member
shifter/shift arm (steel)
lightweight flywheel- should be resurfaced
pressure plate and clutch- looks good but I’d go new as miles on clutch unknown
driveshaft- not separated- looks/feels really good
clutch & brake pedals with mounting hardware- just the pedals, no pedal box as it's not needed for the conversion

Holy shit, is that what the 265/6 is worth now?

Seems like it- A member sold one for $1521.00 for just the trans and bellhousing- Plus, I spent 4 hours under that f'n car pulling this and a large case 3:46 diff, what a pain in the ass, that's worth at least $1k!
265/6's are consistently selling for over a grand now, we had a thread on mye28 a while back talking about how much they've gone up in value.
I can't imagine how much worse the pricing will get as the supply of functioning transmissions is depleted since these can't be rebuilt anymore.

Bleh, going to end up being cheaper to use a 4HP22 bellhousing mated to a domestic five or six speed manual pretty soon. Hell, I mated an F38 to the OEM wategate, trans conversion has to be able to be done. I have seen a 4L80E with the bellhousing chopped off and fitted with a JW Ultrabell adapter to use a 4HP bell built by Rossler. Not sure why the hell it was done due to the sheer weight of that trans (yes, very strong and simple), 60Es are a breeze to build as is an AODE. But hey, not my money!

Thats not just a tranny, but
light flywheel ($200)
Clutch $200
Driveshaft-e23 G265 was 1 model year only $200
crossmember, pedal etc...it all adds up.
I think this is a pretty good deal for a great part, I only use the G265/6 for both M30 and M20 cars.
