Hello all, new to this forum so take it easy on me! I've recently diagnosed my car with the horrid error code which is P1100... Again. Which I believe is caused by the MAF sensor playing up (correct me if I'm wrong). I then cleaned my MAF sensor, reset the codes and drove - after a week the warning light came on again. I then bought a new MAF sensor, all the way from Germany, and just got home now and the light (and the same code) has come on again . The next logical step would be to replace the harness, but thought I'd get some expert opinions on here first.
Cheers All.
Hope your valentines day is going better than mine.
Welcome to the club!
Need to post a pic of the z4 because that's a rule around here.
I'd be pulling and checking all the plastics and rubber between airbox and MAF, then MAF to intake.
I would guess it's that way before the wiring. Easiest way I have found because I don't have a smoke machine... was to use a very bright LED flashlight, shut the lights off and close the garage doors and put the light inside and kind of bend, flex and rotate the tube. Cracks and splits might be visible.
On my son's VW Golf, I customized an old tennis ball(it fit the rubber intake hose perfectly) and placed one of those smoke bombs from 4th of july inside and put some compressed air hose thru a small hole I made in the ball. It worked wonderfully.
