    Is there a recall/problem with X3 F25 Window Regulators

I had my front passenger window regulator die on me which was replaced under warranty (lucky me).

However, when the dealer did the work they replaced both driver and passenger regulators as well as the window glass and also redid the tint. Since I only brought it in for the one window regulator I'm curious why they did the extra work and also eat the extra costs (and didn't think to ask when I was in the shop).

I've googled and checked the forum but haven't been able to find anything about a recall etc.

There is no recall or service action. When I worked at the dealership, aftermarket tint was very specifically NOT covered, if it was damaged during the job; furthermore, if tint caused the mechanism to bind, there was no warranty on the mechanism, either. Aftermarket tint is a cheap, stick-on film, which tends to bind, can't be properly cleaned, discolors and bubbles and distorts.

I'd have to guess that the tech had a really bad day.

Maybe the they replaced the wrong one the first time. I had a tech who serviced the wrong car at the dealership, he called and told me I was what do you mean you worked on the wrong car well they we both e46's and both were silver, ya that was his excuse. Also the window regulators are crap and poorly designed. My wife's Prius has 189k on hers and they work great, they are also cable driven.

My wife went to the dentist for a root canal. About half way through the procedure the dentist admitted that she was working on the wrong tooth!! So, my wife got 2 root canals for the price of one.

Somehow I don’t think it was a “bargain.”

I'd be wanting to give that dentist a root canal, with my one-inch drill bit.
