Been quoted 275/30/19 on rears (alloys ET25) and 245/35/19 on fronts (alloys ET15)
Anyone run these on a lowered E39 with any rubbing issue or should I go for 265/30 and 235/35 tyres?
Cheers

Can't tell you off top of head, but have you tried one of the tire calculators that includes ET and shows you old/new vs your existing wheels and tires?
245/275 widths "fit" on E39's with the right wheels, but without being your google bitch I don't know the ET and aspect/rim-size ins-and-outs that make a difference. How much 'lowered' matters too of course...

I know they’ll fit; offsets are as required as are the tyre sizes (both suggestions)
What I’m asking is whether anyone is running the same specs and whether they’ve had any rubbing issues
My car is lowered c30mm all round on coilovers

"I know they'll fit but I'm asking if they'll rub".
Ohhhhh really? I thought by "Fit" you meant "in athletic and attractive shape". SO helpful you explained that.
I am so surprised that by "FIT" you are talking "not rubbing against parts of the car".
Sorry, I'll be sure to not try to be helpful next time.

Eh?
Why are you going off on one you cockend?
The alloys are E39 spec 19" wheels, I'm simply asking if anyone has run the tyre sizes I've mentioned and whether they've had any rubbing issues?
Not asking a lot, I've provided the ET's etc...
If you can only provide smart arse, smarmy prick-like answers, please look elsewhere

Thank you!
Stunning touring too
I’m not looking to roll any arches and would have thought with ET25 on the rears, I should have plenty of clearance etc. I’ve got 5mm spacers too, so could always make them ET20 if they sit in a touch too far, but I’m also not after the flush look either, unless it just falls that way (if that makes sense)
ET15 up front isn’t an issue, running +5 with my 18" alloys as they’re ET20 and I run 15mm hubcentric sapcers with them with no issues

Gear Grinder is off his meds ....watch out! Ha ha ha.... Actually I think his tolerance is running short on some of these posts which based on some of the questions send me off at time too. (Note: this one seemed to be a normal inquiry to me, but the again I am on my meds- Dr Pepper!!!)

Hi Dan,
For the most part you won't get any rubbing issues on the recommended 245/35 and 275/30 sizing. However, over big(ger) road undulations you 'might' do. The thing is, as you already know, the 'shape' of the tyre shoulders can very, some are very 'square' and other's are much more 'rounded'. This can make all the difference in some cases. Also, suspension 'might' be tired on another persons car who says 'yes, i get some rubbing' compared to another with the same setup but much fresher suspension. For a long while, I've run 275/30 rear and 245/35 front and very occasionally, over bigger undulations my right rear tyre would touch and make a noise. I'm lowered on H&R springs all round on my Touring -30mm but on oem shocks. I do recall for a good number of years I got no rubs at all and I think as my springs and/or shocks have 'worn' that's what's caused the slight rubs.
I'm very soon to pull my arches to gain clearance for a lower ride height and for wider wheels and thus slightly wider tyres - looking to see perhaps 10 inch widths on the front and 11's on the back for one set of my 19's and a set of 20's. I don't want any rubs at all from now on!
I think you'll be fine with your preferred setup, if you do get minor rubs, an arch pull of 5mm might help sort it, or getting some 'rounder' shoulder shaped tyres might just do it.
Cheers, Dennis!
Cheers Dennis
As you well know my cars on fresh D2 coilovers and rides very well, with no sagging and even with the 18" alloys/tyres I had, zero rubbing and they’re spaced out etc...
I think I’ll stick to the 275/245 tyre sizes and have found good prices via Camskill etc. The prices quoted to me by the place I’m sourcing the alloys from are a bit silly unfortunately, they’ve come out very expensive in comparison. Shame really as it’s alwasy good to get everything in one place etc

Baaahaha! Lighten up Francis.... I was just about to post the sense of humor bit. Hit him with some British humor next time for proper effect, GG.

You could try, but you’ll never get it right... British humour is either really funny or really stupid, either way it’s still too ‘over your heads’

Just didn’t expect someone on their monthly to come on and answer with smarmy, arse-ended comments and take their hormonal issues out on a simple thread...

Ahhh crap, one of those..... I think I’ve watched enough Benny Hill in my time to be able to tell the difference between good British humor and the real bland crap that most of you crusty rust infected arses that should have ended up speaking German if it wasn’t for the bloody Yanks that some of you seem to despise so much these days. Just having some fun, learn how to laugh every now and then on these here boards, rather than get your feelings hurt by some simple stupid humor. Good luck with your rubbage. No offense....
