Hello. So I have a 1996 BMW 328i sedan with some Style 43 wheels on it, and I'm thinking on whether or not I should change to some Style 30 wheels for the car. In your opinion, what's the better looking wheel for my car? Pictures attached 20171118_133314.jpg20180127_122724.jpg
They look great, I would leave them on. Nice looking car.
I would also leave the style 43s on. The look of style 30s has not aged well at all IMO.
+1 on keeping 43's
Style 30s, hands down. 43s look like they should be on a Dodge Caravan, or something equally as disgusting to drive.

Thanks for the input and the compliment

lol a Dodge Caravan? that's an interesting comparison thanks for the opinion
If you're looking at style 30s, I'd suggest also taking a look at Style 68s from the E46. They have a similar look to the style 30s but are 17s vs 16s.
I had them on my M3 for a long time and still have them for winters (if I ever live where it snows again). I really liked them, and my wife even prefers them to my current Apex wheels.

Why go from one set of 16 to another set of 16s? You can get any of dozens of 17s that will fit the car without any modification. Indeed, there are even some nice 18s that are a direct bolt on.
Use this link, http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/, to find all of the factory tire packages that are available. You can use a 225/45x17 or 225/45x18 as a direct replacement for the tire package you are using now.
16" tires are cheaper and generally ride better due to more sidewall. Grant it 17s look better. IMHO 18s are proportionately too large for a street driven e36.
I would agree that 18s are a bit large, but they work. A 225/45x17 is not an expensive tire, although the 225/40x18 might be. I took my car from a 225/55x15 (Style 17s) to a 225/45x17 (Style 22s), and it is the single best thing I have done to my car.
Style 30's are not good looking wheels. On the used OEM market, the style 42 one piece, the Style 68's from the E46 330, and DS1's are the best wheels in my opinion that will bolt up and go.
The 235i M badged wheels spec'd out when I ran the numbers for fitment as well. I've never seen them on an E36, finding an affordable set might be an issue (And they are 18's). The overall diameter with tires was very close.
I think your style 43's look better than style 30's. Style 30's are fine if your car came with them, or you are upgrading from 15" wheels. Why not go to 17" as suggested by another member? They really aren't expensive and I think the ride quality is still very good. There's some really good options out there (style 22,23,24, 39, 68 etc) http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/3/E36
