My power steering pump is leaking Pentosin from the drain plug. Upon inspection, it won’t tighten because it’s stripped. Anybody else seen this?
So, what are my options? Can I get a new or aftermarket plug and re-thread? Use a thread insert? What are the plug/thread dimensions?
drain plug? Do not have a pic of that CSi pump, but here are pics of the repair of my double vane pump from the E32 750, on the side there are 2 big plugs with a + , we made a tool for this like shown in the link, http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/526913/
These are not drain plugs, these are the plugs for the piston and spring for the pressure. Below that plug is just a simple o-ring.

I believe the drain plug in question is located in the circled hole in the photo. I borrowed your photo Shogun, hope its ok sir.
I have removed this plug to drain the hydraulic system on several cars, but some have dripped after the process, most likely due to hardened o-ring. Does anyone know the size of the o-ring, or the drain plug part number with integrated O-ring (it has a 4mm or 5mm hex drive)?

I think that’s it, but would have to go back under the car to confirm.
If mine is stripped, what’s the best solution? I’ve seen replacement drain plugs online (aluminum and SS), but does anybody know the diameter and thread pitch? I’m thinking it’s a 10x10mm?
