    chase bays power steering

Anyone used this on their S54 car? Any reason it shouldn't work? Every single one of my lines are leaking so might as well get it done once and for all.

I know nothing about this kit, but I have a bit of a leak in my power steering system right now, and this looks mighty tempting.

More expensive than fixing the one PS line, but it seems you could fix it once and forget about it for the life of the car. Aren't E36/Z3s know for power steering leaks?

I like their washer fluid reservoir to replace the giant one in the Z3s, but the logo kind of kills it for me (I guess I could sand it off?).

Could also put some kind of decal over it? Or maybe figure out the dimensions of the cap they used and find a replacement from someone else.

Looks to me that a trip through the Jegs catalog would net something very close.

I was thinking that the caps on both are round, and the BMW logo is round, so...

Fun random fact. I knew Chase back when he still lived at home in Birmingham, AL and played with CRX's.

I count 8 BMW logos on the exterior of my Z3 Coupe... but only 6 on my M, though 3 ///M logos. Hmm, they even went as far as to write "BMW" on the engine cover. Then I finally get in the car, and damn, there's another one on the steering wheel. Good thing I like BMWs!

I just checked the time and wouldn't you know it, the logo of the company is right there on the dial of my watch. Those arrogant jerks!

I don't know what to tell ya man...black paint?

Cool if you like logos. I just don't think a hose needs a giant name stamped on it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't really mind the logos. I will buy it and report back for those interested.

I guess paint is an option. I would rather the cap read "Power Steering" or "Washer Fluid" with a small company logo. If someone else services your car, they would have to check the hoses to see what fluid goes into the reservoir.

Just curious.. would these E36 cooler work on Z3? http://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-b...r/32411141714/
I believe it mounts on the steering rack but would reduce number of hoses as well.

It fits just fine. But the question is why did BMW find it necessary to move the cooling loop in front of the radiator.

No idea but with the large fan and shroud removed from the 1.9 I think cooling will not be an issue. One guess is that they might be trying to protect it from impact but still seems to be a secure location.
