My list of fixes/refreshes is steadily decreasing, but one glaring issue is the curb rash on all four of the wheels. Clearly one or more of the previous owners struggled with street parking. There are no deep gouges, so my plan is to clean, sand, clean, paint, clear. I haven't totally done my research on the process, but my main question is what paint color perfectly matches the factory color on the style 18s? I haven't completely ruled out changing the color to a gunmetal, but I like the original color on a black/black roadster.
Anyone have any tips or resources that I should check out?
18s look like Hyper Silver to me...at least that's what I planned to have sprayed on my 40s when I get around to them. I think you'll be happy with Hyper Silver. It's a color used on many OEM wheels.
I'm currently doing a set of 42s, and I'm debating what to do with the curb rash as well. Only the centers are painted, so not sure if I can sand enough (but not too much) to keep an unpainted finish. My centers look like hyper silver.
