good call on the bridgestones.
Anyone try the firestones? They're a bit harder. Then it is a 1985 car with a bit different limits than a new one

General is putting out some pretty good tires these days. Check out the G-Max AS05 UHP all-season and RT43 grand touring tire. Tire Rack has tests of both on their site. Poor man's Continentals. Both are $115 apiece or less in that 17-inch size at TR.
I have RT43s on one car and a set of General all-terrains on my truck. They've been very good performers, and good values.
I ran a set of Falken FK453's and really liked them. Then I put on a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3's. Holy cow were they a revelation. The current AS3 plus has improved cold weather performance too. I absolutely love the AS3's on my M6.

Livin the dream!
ended up getting the Firestones...They are getting good review and weren't so much that I'd feel bad if the new tire/wheel sizes didn't fit. Plus I liked their look
Hello, I have Pirelli's P Zero Nero tires and love them. I only drive in the warm months but the traction is great and no noise. Also look nice when cleaned and shined.
No one I've talked with has experience fitting the staggered 235/45x17 frnts and 255/4x17 rears to a euro m63...
Tires arrived today but I won't be cued up till Thursday...the wheels are 8 and 9"x17 type 32's from an e39 with an offset of 20..
I'm thinking they should fit...If not...Well, I'll have a set of fresh recon wheels w/ new firestones for sale

I have the staggered setup but offset the stagger with a thicker rear roll bar front and rear strut top braces and -2deg front camber.
Without these u will have more understeer

Don't forget to get the hubcentric rings because the center hub is larger on the e39. BMW centers the wheels on the hub, not the lug bolts. Without them, the odds are that the car will feel like the wheel balance or thrust rod bushings are bad.

TY Gaz, I'd planned using the street-styled camber plates but the most I see out them is .75deg...I'll revisit that.
the car has the stock M springs and bars. I'd planned on B8 Bilstiens.... Reality is that it will never see more than a fast country cruise..RU still thinking heavier bars are needed?
I should prolly find the dia. of the stock bars
