So I got sick and tired of my crappy light brightness and them being so low so I decided to dig in today.
None of my adjusters were broken but top adjuster wheels were missing, I heated up the adjuster wheels with a torch and applied epoxy, pressed them onto the rod. That worked well so I adjusted the angle and installed this, was blown away by the improvement!

I did a lot of research before deciding on LED kit. LED technology produces less heat and the ballast is much smaller, not all LED bulbs are as good as HID, you have to go for the best available.
Here is what I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I was actually blown away by the result, its as bright as factory xenon on my Porsche Cayenne which I think are exceptional.
A small tip, in order for the bulbs to fit the headlight has to be adjusted all the way down first, the bulbs have a fan on the back.
A good HID will outperform any LED in a projector unless it’s a true LED projector unit, like the new ones that are all one piece in new BMWs not a drop in LED. Which we don’t have.
It's due to how the bulbs emit light. A halogen and hid emit light in a true 360* which is how that projector is designed to capture and project the light.
An led , even if it says 360*, is not a true 360 and you'll have a muddied output with high and low spots and lack a hotspot in the center where all of your usable light is.
Now.....while HID is still king and will out perform in a projector. Going from a halogen to an LED is still a great upgrade. Just HID would be even more so.

NICE! Easy effective tip. Thanks.
That's it, I am quitting this forum. Everytime I lurk here, it makes my to do list longer, and my wallet lighter. Nice find Dragon.

Just ordered a set for my new 8 coming in
I put in similar ones to these, but now notice that when I turn the car off, or wake it up, they flicker on and off about 20 times before actually turning off. I decided to put the stocks back in until I had time to probably troubleshoot the problem. Any ideas?
Lower quality kits do that. Hid kits do that too.. This particular kit has a built in feature that stops it from flickering.

My understanding regarding the heat output of the CREE units is that all the heat is sent backward (instead of forward like a halogen), neccessitating the use of a heatsink/fan on the backside. Not sure I would trust these in the plastic housings as the hottest area is now even closer to the plastic. Looks good though.

Was driving around for about 2 hours today at night, light output is very very strong, on par with the modern cars for sure.
