Hi all, this morning trying to open the top, all went well. Detached front hooks, rear soft top part (the one with rear mirror) went up.
Then the tonneau had to be unlatched. I heard the motor running more than 10 seconds. Then the hooks of the tonneau detached with the typical 'clunk', but then the top stopped working. I can move it by hand, but it doesn't operate to go up.
If I manually re-attach the tonneau hooks and stop/start the car, luckily the top can be closed regularly, so I didn't have to move it manually.
Made the operation 6/7 times: always stopped in that position and operation. Rear hooks detach after 10 seconds or more, then all stop.
Sensor? Motor under cover? The strange thing is the long time to wait to detach the rear hooks, then nothing. Never read something similar...I've read about top stopping halfway due to sensor, rear hooks NOT unlatching (not my case), but nothing about it.
Ps i can smell some heating taste in the trunk, maybe due to a lot of up and downs making tests...oil in that pic is with top half opened, so I don't know if is enough or not.

PS: the motor doesn't starts at all after the rear hooks unlatch. Do I have to verify it first? Maybe the sensor is faulty?

Check the wire harness that runs along the top frame on the driver side. The wires break at the pivot points where they flex every time you open the top

I've read of wires breaking in that point.
BUT that issue won't be related at the top movement? My issue starts when the tonneau have to move, the soft top operates reguarly till that moment. Or there are some tonneau motor-related wires in that position too?
