22RPD Tuning

Just wanted to give a big shout out to 22RPD tuning. I recently put a set of cams, M50 manifold and ASC-T Delete on my 97 328is and needed to get a tune. When I was looking for someone to tune the car I was trying to balance cost vs performance, didn't want to cheap out and leave power on the table but at the same time some of the tuning prices out there made my head hurt. I stumbled upon a couple of threads that mentioned 22RPD and I PM'd a couple of the guys who had Zack tune their car and heard nothing but praise.

Placed my order and soon after got my ECU to USB cable along with some instructions. Did an initial tune, some logging and then some more updates. Same week I took the car to Sebring I was able to get 4 hits on a local dyno. I was very pleased with the results, know you have to take absolute values with a grain of salt but thought the numbers were great. Note that this was a mustang dyno with STD correction.

I think for the results and money spent you would have a very hard time finding a better source to tune your OBD2 E36 (not sure what else he tunes). Once I get my headers/exhaust built I hope to make just a little more power (and lose a lot of weight).

Have AFR? Looks fine, but i don't think there's a need to shim the vanos with those cams. You're torque would be flatter with the vanos working fully.

I have run Schrick 264/256 in 2 different S52 and never needed to limit the vanos. One ran 7000 and one 7200 limiter. With more aggressive cams a shim may be necessary, but I think the cams need to be a lot more aggressive. For example, I don’t think you need a limiter even with the 276/270 Schricks.
