    Overheated E46 now won’t start

Hey guys, my brothers e46 05 325i overheated and wouldn’t turn on any more because of it so I did a motor swap with a good m54 engine.

After the swap, the car still won’t start and I get the (P0118 BMW )- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High

After I clear the code I see the temperate gauge go lower but then immediately shoot back up

Have u guys seen this before?

Hmmm...Granted you are trying help your brother but people here need greater details than you offer... just to start. My recommendation for you and your brother is to have a BMW tech evaluate before step number two.
