I checked on a Bluetooth obd2 driver of my cars coolant temp and the highest I've seen it is at 84°c. Car warms up perfectly fine even replaced thermostat before when it was taking while to warm up but is this proper operating temp for m52 motor, what are your guys readings, same results were on inpa. And I don't know if any of you m52 guys have done this but I put a 12mm 1/4 socket in the iac hose (because we all have rev hang) and my revs drop way faster and the cars throttle response is much faster, but now I'm getting secondary air flow too low codes for some reason idk if you guys get this too but I don't know if their related or not

That temp sounds right. You blocked a hose and now wonder why you have a low air flow code?

Was the car originally an automatic? If it was then that rev hang has to do with the DME running software for the automatic, you can flash it to a manual trans.
Attn. NEWBIES: Use the search feature, 98% has already been discussed.
Click the search button, select "search single content type", select the "e36 sub forum" specifically, try the "search titles" then try the "search entire posts".
84 degree C operating temperature is too low. The 328 M52 thermostat is 92 CEL 11537511083
Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
I don’t have rev hang... rev doesn’t drop so quick because the car has a flywheel! Remove the flywheel for quick rev drop. Thank me later.
thats not true.
its an emission feature to avoid a rich condition when letting go of the gas pedal. in that moment the icv is getting a signal from the DME.
icv isnt sticking. it gets a signal from the DME in that moment. this "feature" is total crap.
The icv gets a signal from the DME to open up right? So you’re saying that the icv can provide enough air through that small hole to keep the revs where they are? This small hole can barely provide enough air to keep the engine at 3000 rpm...
I’m telling you the rev hang is fake. No matter at which rpm I release throttle, it immediately starts to drop. Hook up inpa and look at your rpm signal. It will drop instantly after releasing the gas. Your tachometer might make you think otherwise because it has a smoothing factor.
The only thing I’m saying is that I don’t have it. If you’re convinced this is standard behavior then it must be only in American e36

Modded air line.....that leads to code he doesn't understand why he's getting...... from a guy who complains about others modding their cars instead of doing solely maintenance
Would take even consider that a mod, plus I even took out the socket from the hose since it might get caught up in something, seems like you should learn what modding is

So if my ect is at 170f I should just delete the fan altogether before I lose my radiator
Where will your radiator go?

I've done the socket in the ICV hose and I don't get any codes from that. I've got the 92°C t-stat that equals out to the nearly 200°F that shows on my aftermarket gauge. It rarely gets to that lately due to the cold weather we've been having lately but it did get there one day when it reached almost 20°F the other day.And I don't know if any of you m52 guys have done this but I put a 12mm 1/4 socket in the iac hose (because we all have rev hang) and my revs drop way faster and the cars throttle response is much faster, but now I'm getting secondary air flow too low codes for some reason idk if you guys get this too but I don't know if their related or not
My suggestion is, Oh My f---ing God!
Holy shit! Sorry. What the hell are you talking about?
You are very hard to follow. You said that the idle falls, I am reading that it falls when you let the clutch out. Give it more gas.
Then, somebody makes a tongue in cheek suggestion of removing the fan and sitting in traffic, your reply is that you don't live where there is traffic. there's no traffic where I live either, but there is nothing but traffic in any direction I want to go. You cannot say that you never drive in traffic because you never drove in traffic before. Your entire life should be about what might happen tomorrow, not based on what happened yesterday. There are two truths in life, yesterday will never happen again, and tomorrow will bring things you have never experienced before.
Shhhh, you're making too much sense. Let it happen and hope for pictures and threads.
