    Security certificate

Why does this forum need one? And if it does, why doesn't the moderator renew it?

a moderator cannot do it, the admin has to do it, the admin is working on it.

The forum needs one so when you login your username and password (that you hopefully don't reuse for other sites) isn't transferred in plain text across the Internet.

Moderator probably only has admin access to the forum software. Needs someone that has admin / root access to the underlying server (Windows / Linux)

Okay now it's causing issues. If I take too long to post a Quick Reply (let's say go back and forth to different tabs, look up part numbers) it will asked me to ignore the cert again when clicking "Post Quick Reply" and then I guess it loses my content and takes me to the Advanced Editor saying the message is too short.
