    Oil seperator valve

Hi people. I need advise please? My E39 525i smokes heavy on start up. Has anyone ever experienced a similar problem, and what was the solution? Can it be a faulty oil seperator valve, or must I replace valve stem seals? How do I narrow it down? Please help???

The CCV valve may be clogged etc.

Best is to decommission it and do the "CCV Modification".

See thread #164 below, I posted the solution in thread #164.
Total cost for hoses and plumbing etc.: $15...
