    Question on kidney's for 740v750

    Are the front kidney's the same size for a 95 to 01 740 and a 750? Thanks.
Lets get the party started before it's my bedtime.

The only difference is the V12s came with the chrome tipped grilles while the V8s got the matte black grilles. Fitnent is the same.

Here is an excellent (as usual) post from Q, with clarity on the kidney grills. There are several designs.

If you've looked at any of the info/suggestions given above...then you already have your answer.

But to verify further...just takes pulling up the diagram for the hood. For any of the various e38's kidney grills to all fit and be interchangeable...would mean that the opening in the hood would also have to be identical. So if you pull up the diagram for the e38's hood...then run the 11 digit part nbr...you should get a list of all e38 models and engine configurations...even the Euro models not sold here (M51/M52/M57d/M67d/M60/M62/M73): (note: some early V12 models had an aluminum hood...but other than that all the "steel" hoods have the same part nbr...thus the grill opening is the same size from 95-01)

Just out of curiosity, how early is early? Just checked RealOEM and even the earliest 11/94 production date US 750iL apparently has a steel hood.

OMG...thanks for finding this old thread. Almost 7 years later...I'm still laughing at the off topic banter about Poutine, Poo-tang, Poon-tang, and make-up on a f@t chick.

Thanks for the link. Interesting choice by BMW. Wonder why they stopped using aluminum?

Bumping this thread for width confirmations to see if that changed as well. I found a set of knockoffs I bought YEARS ago but never installed because they're not as wide. I just don't know if this is a 740 vs 750 thing or a cheap Chinese knockoff thing. I'm leaning towards the later but figured I better ask since realOEM shows different part number as well.
