Hey everyone, my name is alex and i just got a 1995 bmw 318is but it doesnt turns on, theres fuel, theres spark, i just changed the fuel injectors, the spark plugs, the fuel pump, ckp and camshaft ps, but i was looking this afternoon that the air flow meter connector doesnt get any signals like the 5v it should have on the pin 1 of the connector, what should i do? Already check the fuses that goes in front of the vehicle and they good, is it my ecm???
Check the wiring between the MAF and the computer (DME in bmw talk). Also, open up the DME to see if water has gotten into it. Lastly, check the semiconductor that sends the MAF 5VDC to make sure it looks ok.
I cleaned the DME and i got 5VDC on the MAF connector but it doesnt turns on, can it be the MAF? And i tried to put my scanner but it is not able to communicate with the DME, do i have a bad DME?
"Cleaned" the DME? If there was corrosion inside chances are almost certain it's a goner.
Pretty sure I have a spare DME for that thing, let me know by PM if you need one.

also, please tell us more about "doesn't turn on." will it crank? do you have any lights, noises? does your check engine light ever light up? does the tach move when trying to start? how did you verify fuel and spark?
'95 325iS - auto to manual swap done!
I ran into a guy who changed everything on an old E36 1.8 like yours. The plug wires connect to coils on the right inner fender. If you hooked them up wrong the car wont start.
Already found the problem, it was just a bad catalityc, thanks you all for the support!✌️
Huh?

I think he's saying he had a bat cat or catalyst converter

I thought too. As that would most likely just prevent the car from revving past 3k rpm
