Haha the old wallet trick has saved me more than once These cars keep your wallet empty enough to work on that latch handle.

now fix the reason you had to use your wallet to hold the handle up. adjust your hood bumpers
you just unscrew them half a turn to create more push up on the hood. unless the pin/spring is broken or missing. then you have to replace them.
I replaced my hood buffers and the passenger side still won't pop 80% of the time. I have it threaded as far out as I can. Thinking I may remove the bolts holding the upper rad support and put a couple washers under it.
I think the spring is worn out but this will do for now...

In my case I had to soak the latch on passenger side good with WD40 then I swapped one of the bump stops from my trunk. Seemed to have solved the problem in my case.
