    Blue Leather Interior. Rare?

Recently I’ve been searching for a new daily. Something with four doors that I can haul the family around in such as an XJ6, Buick Roadmaster, E34, etc. It dawned on me last night that I already have one. I completely forgot that I have a Cirrusblau 1992 735i stored at my dad’s shop.
I was looking at pictures today, researching and trying to gather a list of what needed to be done and realized something. I can’t really find any pictures online of an E32 with blue full leather interior like this one has. I’d post a pic, but it has black seats in it right now due to twisting problems with the original seats.

I have some unreliable data for the 750 only. According to that, 48557 cars were made, 345 had upholstery 0228 "Indigo Leather", 1592 had 0234 "Indigo Leather, Full" and 213 had 0223 "Indigo Cloth". Not at popular choice, I would say. If your car has a blue dash board, I suggest that you fix the blue seats and swap them back in. Original is always better, I think. Check Shogun's site about fixing twisted seats (and everything else, too).

It’s pretty dirty right now, but everything, including the dash is blue. The original seats will definitely be going back in.

Interesting. I've never seen blue interior before. Is the exterior blue as well? Love to see a picture of the exterior. By the way, your gearshift lever is on backwards. Might want to flip that around.

It's certainly around, I've sold the seats out of an all-blue 89 525i in Indigo, not ultramarine. I'd say a little less common than the early saddle tan.

The exterior is Cirrus Blue. I’m kind of ashamed to post pics like it sits. Other than getting it running, it hasn’t been touched since I pulled it from the PO’s back yard 2 years ago.
Thanks for the note on the shifter. I never even noticed.

I’ve seen it in other models. My old E23 and E30 cabrio for examples. Couldn’t find much in the way of E32s though. From what I can recall, this one looks like Indigo.

Mine is an Alpenweiss exterior with Ultramarin interior (code 0439) I almost bought its cousin, a 1993 750il with a blue interior but it escaped me.

I'm not sure how rare they, but my first car was a 735i with the blue interior! Here's an album I made back when I was 17: https://imgur.com/a/pJq5X

The interior shots are near the end of the album, sorry

You'll notice the passenger seat is black (out of an e34 I believe), but other than that it's all blue.

Hey, what year is that Bronzit Beige Metallic 735I sitting in front, under the windows and is it still around?

It's a 1988 that was on its second engine/transmission with the odometer stuck at 299995 - my first car, picked up for $850

Sadly my dad sold it, along with his silver one seen in the album, to some guy for $500 while I was away at school... I blew the head gasket, fixed it once, and then put another 30k miles on it before blowing the head gasket a second time. Even though it wasn't running while I was at school, boy was I mad at my dad when I found out he sold them that cheap! His even still ran, just had no brakes after a hardline rusted out completely.

$850.00 is pretty good. I paid $50,805.00 for mine (same color) in Feb of 1990. That was with Limited Slip Diff, Heated front seats, Gas Guzzler Tax, Dealer Prep and Destination & Handling. I still have the window sticker and the car.

We should all be so lucky to have our E32's make it to 300,000 miles. I think my car will make it, but with 180,000 miles now, I think I'll be dead and gone before the car gets there. My daughter thinks the car looks like a Box, so I haven't figured out where its going when I'm gone. Maybe the VA cemetery down here will allow me to pay a little more to bury it next to me.

I was at 222800, should get in contact with my family friends to check up, but it's probably never going to see a hundreth of the amount of miles and abuse it did with me.

Thanks for the replies! I can’t wait to get started on the car. So much so that I’ve already bought a set of staggered E38 M Parallels.
I finally made it down today to see the car and turns out even I didn’t know what it was exactly. Come to discover it’s Gletscherblau Metallic with Ultramarin leather. Here’s the options list that matches the build sheet I found.

I'm sure another enthusiast on here would look after her, would be a shame to bury such a car. There are college kids like me that adore these cars, and even younger kids pause in the parking lot to give my car a look over. These cars are slowly going extinct and not many examples will be left.

Hold on to your E32s gentlemen, and if you don’t want to, start demanding higher prices. That’s what the E24 crowd did and now you cant find a clean e24 for under 8000, when for a time they could be had for 3-4K

I saw two E32s with blue interiors at salvage yards last year..of course, by now they are long gone. Both interiors were very deteriorated.

    Fixed.

It was a tragedy really, E24s and E28s were one of the better means of fun and disposable transportation.
