BMW e34 security system

My car is a 1993 BMW 525i and a security system was not installed when new. But it does say it is pre-wred for one, I recently came across a security system with the harness, siren and the center console trim.i also found a remote and i can program it. If hook up those few things up to the pre wire system will it work or will i need more parts. I mainly want it for the keyless entry. If it does work will it be worth it.

Yes it will work. The plug should be under the rear seat drivers side

The center console piece just includes a blinking light and a glass breakage sensor. You don't need either one if you just want keyless entry. I don't know how to get a remote programmed to the unit if they didn't come as a set, but if you manage that, just plugging it in is all that's required. Make sure the receiver has an antenna on it and it's stretched out straight.

The remote has a removable chip that you insert into the unit that's located under the rear seat.
Press a little black button on the circuit board and the chip will synchronize.
Replace chip in remote and you have keyless entry/lock function.
