Window switch

This might sound like a dumb question but what is the technical name for the micro switch that is in the door latch that enables the window to go down a little when opening the door? Every time I open either door, you have to manually push the little switch to make the window go down so the door will close. The window goes back up like it’s supposed to, just doesn’t do the go down thing.

Why would you move this to the E46 forum? I have a 1994 E36 Vert. I’m wondering what the switches are called that put the window down a little so the windows will clear the convertible top when closing
