I had an 06 civic si when my m3 was out of commission for a few years. More reliable than a BMW, 8200 redline, factory lsd, slick 6 speed shifter, 30mpg hwy. I liked the vtec of the si over the i-vtec of the tsx fwiw. Fun car to zip around in. It was really hard to keep it stock esp with way cheaper mods available. I would get a tune/tuner to get rid of rev hang on the 06's tho. If you're rebuilding your truck then enjoy the vtec machine for some cheap reliable fun while it's down

All the failed 4l60's ive seen were no reverse.

Both of the ones I rebuilt were due to the hub shearing off the sunshell which leaves you with no reverse, 2nd, or 4th. They have pretty wimpy internals and clutches for the power they are intended to handle. Lots of stamped sheet metal crap and thin flimsy bushings.

I think you underestimate the level of theft deterrent that a manual transmission is these days haha..
One thing I love about my twin disc is that even of people that can drive a stick, I bet a small fraction of them could jump in my M3 and not stall it several times trying to get away lol.
