Help me please. 1997 BMW 328 ic, in the process of changing from auto top to manual, bought a Manual Top Handle & Latch Kit*, my problem is when I removed auto overhead upper latches and motor went to open (I disengaged both motors in trunk) and it will only go up 6" or so, what I think is the problem, the c-latch that auto latch rod connected to c-latch (hopefully you can see picture) missed the pin and now they are jammed
You have to disengage the top motors. Fold the top so the front section is back as far as it can. Then have a friend pull the c latch back around (because its sprung) on whatever side is off. Then slowly lower the front half until its set in right. Then lower the top all the way down and connect the rods that hold it. I suggest finding more info about your swap.
Nobody would recertify these machines after somebody screwed with them without any visibility into what they did.
HONK! HONK! Clown car coming through!

The problem is I cant lift top high enough because c-latch isnt going into groove. I cant find a why to get it back onto pin. Its wedged
