Hello all! I’m new to the forum and purchased a 2008 X5 3.0 as my first BMW a year ago. I am the third owner and put maybe 12,000 miles on it and supposedly have a “burnt valve” … according to the local BMW dealer. Nothing really adds up though. Attached are the pictures they sent my warranty company after using a borescope. But looking at the pictures… It just doesn’t make sense. Does anyone have any insight or thoughts? Thank you
I don't even know if these images make sense to want $13K from a dealer to repair. One picture makes sense, the other doesn't.

I don’t know how to upload the pictures. I did a copy and paste from the iPhone but they show broken. So then I copied and paste from the computer. I’m sorry I’m new to this site
Here’s the first pic.
